INNER VIEW PHILANTHROPIC INITIATIVE

The Soul of Humanity

A philanthropic initiative dedicated to helping humanity see itself — through film and direct human experience.

The Illusion of Separation, in a Hyper-Connected World

We live in an age of unprecedented connection and deepening disconnection. We are more digitally linked than ever — and more isolated than we have ever been.

The relentless noise of modern life, accelerated by artificial intelligence, has produced a quiet crisis of the spirit. The real challenge of our time is not a shortage of information. It is the persistent illusion that we are separate from one another.

Conventional approaches try to meet this crisis by thinking harder, analyzing more, and generating more noise. But you cannot cure disconnection with the very mechanisms that created it.

"We cannot solve our problems with the same thinking we used when we created them."

— Albert Einstein

Awakening the Shared Heartbeat of Humanity

Imagine a different way forward — not by thinking harder, but by becoming radically present to an intelligence that is already waiting to emerge.

Over twenty years of this work revealed something unexpected: the deepest transformation was not only in the films themselves, but in the quality of attention from which they emerged. When the noise quiets, a fundamental shift occurs — life is no longer something lived by us, but something revealed as being lived through us.

That single recognition changes how we see ourselves and how we perceive each other. It dissolves the barriers of “us versus them” and replaces them with the simple resonance of shared existence.

— Nic Askew

Soul of Humanity

The philanthropic expression of
Inner View Experiences.

It carries forward a two-decade mission to help humanity see itself through film and direct experience, and it rests on two simple, fundable pillars :

The Films

A growing body of Soul Biographies and thematic films that reveal what connects us beneath identity, culture, belief, and circumstance.

Together, these films form a living archive of the human experience for future generations.

The Gatherings

Bringing people together in conditions where separation falls away and belonging can be directly experienced.

These gatherings create spaces where the quality of attention at the heart of this work can be encountered firsthand.

The Case for
Natural Intelligence

This work exists because the old paradigms of media, communication, and problem-solving are no longer enough to meet the challenges of our day.

A growing number of leaders and visionaries sense this.

We have reached a pivotal threshold.

As artificial intelligence increasingly replicates human intellect, the world is starving for something it cannot manufacture: natural intelligence, the un-engineered essence of being human.

Funding this work now introduces a rare quality of unconditional attention to the global stage.

This is not another media campaign.

It is a container that allows the soul of humanity to emerge exactly when it is most needed.

What Founding Patron Support Makes Possible

Founding patron support enables the creation of films, the convening of gatherings, and the establishment of a permanent home from which this work can grow and serve future generations. In practice, philanthropic support is directed across three primary areas:

2G1A8023.jpg

Thematic Films & Campaigns

Producing cinematic works around core human themes, where a shift in attention can reframe our greatest shared challenges.

2G1A8023.jpg

Sanctuary Gatherings

Bringing leaders, cultural creators, and stakeholders together on the land to uncover strategies that ignite compassion and belonging at scale.

2G1A8023.jpg

Reconnection Initiatives

Developing tools, experiences, and future-facing frameworks that help transform the conditions of modern disconnection into opportunities for genuine witnessing, belonging, and human reconnection.

The Work Ahead

The Soul of Humanity is organized around a series of thematic fronts, each rooted in the same essential question: What becomes possible when we are no longer operating from separation?

Youth & Reconnection

Addressing the youth mental health crisis through tools and experiences built for genuine witnessing.

The intended shift: from digital isolation to deep, validated belonging.

A Kindness Revolution

Convening global gatherings to map high-resonance strategies for compassion.

The intended shift: from defensive polarization to active, shared humanity.

Environmental Stewardship

Reframing our relationship to the Earth from extraction to kinship.

The intended shift: from exploitation of resources to reciprocal care.

Healing Through Loss

Witnessing the universal experience of grief to bridge cultural divides.

The intended shift: from isolated suffering to collective healing.

Investigative Truth-Seeking

Applying the Inner View approach to truth-seeking by looking past narrative to essence.

The intended shift: from manufactured noise to undeniable truth.

The Inner View Method

The Soul of Humanity does not rely on traditional storytelling or documentary mechanics.

It rests on the Inner View framework, a process that quiets the mind and opens access to our shared humanity.

It moves through four movements >

1. Stillness

The subject steps out of the momentum of daily life and sits before the lens to be witnessed from a place of unhurried stillness.

2. Revelation

Stripped of agendas, scripts, and the demand for immediate answers, something is revealed. This is the fertile space where performance falls away and truth begins.

3. Awakening

In this state of genuine witnessing, the illusion of separation drops away, and the person recognizes a deeper belonging.

4. Belonging

The final film allows others to transcend their own separate stories and recognize their own part in a single, shared human belonging.

What This Work
Makes Possible

To partner as a founding funder is to help secure a legacy with profound cultural returns:

  • A public mirror for humanity: A growing, public-facing body of work that helps societies see past ideological conditioning to what they share.

  • A foundation of belonging: Addressing a root cause of societal friction by helping communities move beyond the illusion of separation.

  • A reframing of our greatest challenges: A foundational archive that changes how we meet our systemic challenges.

  • Unconditional attention, at scale: Extending a rare and healing quality of attention into the wider world.

Two Decades of Silent Witnessing...

  • Twenty years of mastery: For over two decades, filmmaker Nic Askew has been creating Soul Biographies, quietly capturing the soul of humanity one film at a time. This campaign is not an unproven theory — it is the scaling of a lifelong body of work.

  • Thousands witnessed: People from all walks of life have sat before Nic’s camera. Across two decades, their experience confirms a single truth: to be witnessed this way is among the most profound discoveries available to us.

  • Institutional stewardship: To ensure financial integrity, transparency, and sound deployment, Nic Askew has partnered with David Levy of the Rock Creek Institute at Mayacamas Sanctuary. The Rock Creek Institute serves as the fiscal sponsor for this campaign, providing a trusted foundation for all philanthropic allocations.

— Margaret Mead

"Is this the right initiative for me?"

This initiative is for you if:

  • You have sat for an Inner View yourself, and understand from the inside that this is a return to the source, not a tool for better thinking.

  • You are a leader or organizer drawn to a specific, deeply entrenched challenge, and want to reveal a different way forward.

  • You are a patron of the arts and humanities who senses that culture has reached a threshold requiring a thoughtful course correction.

  • You recognize that the most important challenges of our time are not only technological, political, or economic, but rooted in the remembering that we belong to one another.

This is not for you if you are looking to fund conventional media assets, traditional PR, or short-term, metrics-driven digital content.
